Some of Jersey’s most spectacular rural landscapes are to be found where its ancient fields meet the sand dunes of St Ouen’s Bay. Today, this area is the heavily-protected Coastal National Park but as recently as the 1980s it was the island’s rubbish dump – as the late Dr Michael Romeril recalled in his last interview in July 2023.
